On the 24th of November 2008 Andew Grainger was awarded, by Palgrave Macmillan, the first prize for his PhD thesis “Trade Facilitation and Supply Chain Management: A Case Study at the Interface between Business and Government”. The Award Ceremony for the 3rd Maritime Economics & Logistics (MEL) PhD Competition took place at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

The MEL PhD Competition organized by MEL and Palgrave Macmillan aims at promoting research excellence in the field of Maritime Economics and Logistics, and, in its 3rd Edition invited submissions from PhD researchers who defended their thesis between 2005 and 2008.

Andrew wishes to thank all those that have helped him bring the thesis to life. The thesis has already spawned numerous articles, some of which can be accessed from this website's Publications section. Andrew looks forward to continuing his research and further develope the field of trade facilitation and trade logistics.
