Welcome to Trade Facilitation Consulting Ltd. We provide consulting services in the wider area of international trade, customs, logistics and supply chain management. The company was founded by Dr Andrew Grainger and, in addition to his expertise, is able to draw on a wide circle of associates to deliver bespoke advice, research, training and solutions.

Our clients can be found in both the public and private sector. The company’s Director, Dr Andrew Grainger, has many years of experience in research and policy. Next to his activities at Trade Facilitation Consulting Ltd, he is also a Lecturer at the Nottingham University Business School, a leading research focused university with campuses in the UK, Malaysia and China. In earlier roles Andrew served as Deputy Director for SITPRO (the UK Trade Facilitation Agency) and secretary for EUROPRO. He also participated as expert in the EU Commission’s Trade Contact Group (2004-6), provided consultancy at PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked as freight forwarder in Germany and Southeast Asia. 

Andrew holds a PhD in Management from Birkbeck College, University of London, where he submitted his thesis titled "Trade Facilitation and Supply Chain Management: a case study at the interface between business and government". His thesis was recently awarded the Palgrave Macmillan Prize in Maritime Economic & Logistics for best PhD thesis 2005-2008. Other qualifications include a MA (Warwick; with Distinction) in International Political Economy and a BSc (with Honours; Cardiff) in International Transport. He is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and fluent in German and English.
